RTE.... Ride to Eat....

Just as simple as it sounds....  Get on the bike, ride somewhere, Eat ! In the company of other like minded people who rode and drove in from far away places. Just like me.

When I took my 1984 Harley Davidson FLHTC Electra Glide out of its role as my main motorcycle ride, I had promised myself that I would take some time and give my old bike some TLC. And this is the first ride after some TLC was given to the bike .

The biggest issue was in the Primary Chain of the bike, it was worn as was the compensating gear that drives the chain. Plus the clutch was original at 94,000 miles showing on the odometer.

The bike also got some new front wheel Bearings

And then .... The road test ...

Finally crossed another milestone in the 26 years I have owned this bike .

 All good things must come to an end, and as I rolled in to the top of my driveway and stopped.

I had to take one more.

Why so sentimental about this ride ?

26 years ago this week I bought that bike new, My first new Harley Davidson, My first ride was in stunning fall colors and I just was loving life and my new bike on that first ride. 

26 years later, I get the same feeling... Again.
